How Are We Using Your Money?

Children’s and adult programming has expanded greatly since 2007.

Our programs include:

*weekly Toddler Time programs for preschoolers
*monthly Lego Club programs for children aged 7-14
*monthly programs for home-schooled children and parents
*two library-sponsored book clubs for adults
*weekly summer programs for children aged 2-16
*collaborations with Head Start, the Wilson Children’s Center,
and Deposit Elementary School classes
*yearly programs by outside presenters
*summer reading challenges to promote literacy
*Read with Me program to promote early literacy
*six traveling libraries to promote early literacy
*periodic adult programs on various topics
*one-on-one assistance with computer skills for adults

Building improvements since 2007 include:

*new bookcases and establishment of a young adult area
*interior and exterior painting of the building
*replacement of window shutters
*replacement of flat roof
*purchase of book shed to house donated books
*addition of air conditioning to the HVAC system
*custom-built circulation desk, DVD case, and glass display case
*new lobby floor
*upgrades to the electrical system

Technology services that have increased since 2007 include:

*free wireless service with internet connectivity
*access to online databases through subscription to Research Center
*access to free e-books and audiobooks with library card
*new microfilm reader for accessing Deposit Courier archives
*replacement and upgrades to public computers
*online presence through a library website and Facebook page
*virtual storytimes on Facebook
