{"id":2148,"date":"2023-01-20T11:02:44","date_gmt":"2023-01-20T16:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depositfreelibrary.org\/?page_id=2148"},"modified":"2023-01-20T11:02:44","modified_gmt":"2023-01-20T16:02:44","slug":"october-2022-board-meeting-minutes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/depositfreelibrary.org\/?page_id=2148","title":{"rendered":"October 2022 Board Meeting Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Deposit Free Library Minutes: <\/strong><strong>October 17, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Present:\u00a0 Paul Hochuli, Deb Stever, Ellen Ficurilli, Becky Hochuli, Angie Logue, Bridget Davis; Absent:\u00a0 MaryEllen Decker<\/p>\n<p>The regular meeting of the Deposit Free Library board was called to order by President Becky Hochuli at 3:58 p.m.\u00a0 The minutes of the last meeting (September 19, 2022) were reviewed and accepted with one incorrect date corrected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report: <\/strong>The treasurer\u2019s report was given by Paul Hochuli. Investments were down in the month of October due to the stock market decline. Further information can be found in the narrative section of the October 17, 2022 Treasurer\u2019s Report. The Banking Summary for the month was reviewed and accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director\u2019s Report:<\/strong>\u00a0Deb Stever presented the Director\u2019s Report.\u00a0 The following highlights were noted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We gained 16 new patrons in September.<\/li>\n<li>Deb presented increasing Lego Club meetings from one to two times a month and paying Kaitlyn Bellettini to be supervisor of the Lego Club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Deb\u2019s proposal was reviewed and accepted.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deb reported that Shaun from 4CLS has cleaned up our old computers. These computers are being given to patrons who need them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Further information can be found in the narrative section of the October 17, 2022 Director\u2019s Report. \u00a0The Director\u2019s Report was reviewed and accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Old Business<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New computer repairs have been completed.<\/li>\n<li>Sidewalk repairs were efficient and well done<\/li>\n<li>Outside window washing has been completed by EcoPro. Paul was able to negotiate the cost down from $1300.00 to $600.00. They did a great job.<\/li>\n<li>Operations Committee needs to meet to review and update the library\u2019s long- range plan. Becky will contact the members and set a meeting date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New Business<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stories with Santa: tentative date Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Celebration of the 85<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the library building:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tentative date Dec. 1 (alternate date: Dec.8).<\/p>\n<p>Open house: 3-6 p.m. (people can drop in).\u00a0 Refreshments: cookies &amp; punch.<\/p>\n<p>Dedicate Anne\u2019s memorial bookcase at the Open House.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Closure of Deposit Foundation: now that they are not doing referrals, they do not have free faxing available for medical, job search, or tax related faxes. After discussion the board agreed to work on a plan to adjust our fax\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 charges to alleviate this problem.<\/li>\n<li>Other items: Becky met a man from Endwell who builds and repairs chairs.
