Deposit Free Library Minutes
December 4, 2023
Present: Paul Hochuli, Becky Hochuli, Bridget Davis, Angie Logue, Deb Stever, Mary Ellen Decker, Ellen Ficurilli
The regular monthly meeting was called to order by President Becky Hochuli at 4:02 p.m.
The minutes of the last meeting (October 30, 2023) were reviewed and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s Report, 10/31/2023-12/4/2023, was given by Paul Hochuli. The financial information was reviewed and accepted.
Librarian’s Report
The Librarian’s Report for December 2023 was given by Deb Stever. The information was reviewed and accepted.
Old Business …
Courier Digitizing Project: We received a grant of $1,000 from Deposit’s Closet toward digitizing our old Deposit Courier newspapers. We will be using the Advantage Archives company to do the work. Their quote is $175 per reel of microfilm. We have 72 reels. They will maintain the digital copies on our website. We will seek further funding to begin this project.
Walton Reporter: The library will begin receiving Walton Reporter newspapers in January 2024.
New Business…
Community Park: An environmental group has put up signs in the community park giving information about native trees, plants, fish, and area history. We might use these signs as part of our SRP collaboration with DCS.
Tax Levy: The annual request letter has been sent to the Deposit School District for receipt of the funds they collected for us from the school taxes.
2024 Budget: The Finance Committee will meet January 15, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. to create the 2024 budget.
